When do I need a destination tag?

A destination tag is commonly required when sending XRP to an exchange, broker, or custodial service that uses one shared deposit address.

If the recipient gives you a tag, enter it exactly. If you are sending to a self-custodial wallet address controlled by one person, a tag is usually not needed.
